Population Ecology

Population Ecology (in Biology) is a major sub-field of ecology that deals with the dynamics of species populations and how these populations interact with the environment.

Organization as Organism: metaphor used by Morgan in Images of Organization, is totally different from the traditional view of organization. They perceive organizations as living organism. As Evolution of Species in the process of natural selection, create chances for living being to survive, success or to fail. Same with organizations, this process will help to give survival strategies (Hannan & Freeman) . All the steps are same with biological evolution.

  • Veriation
Entreprenural or innovative veriations occur in organization.
  • Selection
Enviroment Selec some of the best veriation from them.
  • Retantion
Now time to instituionlise the selection and this is the survival of the fittest.
